17 Jun

he8:  Only gospel can make soul food better.  By the way, can a soul get clogged arteries?

she8:  This was my first fried chicken & waffle experience. However, I have no excuse for the cake. That Sunday was one big sin.

we8: Biscuits, Fried Chicken & Waffles, Barbecue Ribs, Mac & Cheese, Yams, and Red Velvet Cake.

Parlor – New York

19 Apr

he8:  It’s like they took CBGB’s, shoved it into skinny jeans and taught it how to cook.

she8:  Cool members club. Gorgeous models hang from the wall. A mixologist pouring. But the army of Magnolia cupcakes marching towards me stole the show.

we8:  Hanger steak with spinach and wasabi mashed potatoes, Grilled salmon with risotto, ravioli (but we don’t remember as a result of a mixologist mixing madness).

The Napoleon House – New Orleans

19 Mar

he8:  The best part about this place is that the funny little short man never stepped foot in it.

she8:  This historic landmark dates back to 1797… I believe the bruschetta did as well. Napoleon never made it here and he didn’t miss much.

we8: Bruschetta with basil, mozzarella cheese, tomato and caponata.
